about

I am a fine art photographer based in Manchester. I completed an MA in Visual Culture at Manchester Metropolitan University in September 2008, where I developed my practice to encompass research that underpins my writing and photography. My work deals with the narrative form, using fiction and visual art forms as impetus and also deals with collective or individual memory and ways of remembering. Recent exhibitions include Spectangular a group show of short film and photography run by Kiosk and Comma Films at The New Islington Folk Festival and MA Show 2008 at The Holden Gallery, Manchester.

My work includes private commissions and documentary. I have documented a variety of arts projects, workshops, festivals and artists’ work. I have over 14 years experience in running workshops and began teaching and lecturing in 1999. I currently teach at Manchester Metropolitan University and Mid-Cheshire College.

Recent commissions include the documentation of exhibitions at Pavement Gallery and Deej Fabyc’s night walks for Castlefield Gallery, several drama festivals and events for Cheshire County Council and North West Drama Services, documentation for mosaic artist Tracey Cartledge and the cover for Martinmas Time, the latest single from James Yorkston and The Big Eyes Family Players and an album by David A Jaycock.
